Our Sweet Sarah

Sarah was a gift to Sophie and me.  She is the amazing horse that taught us everything we need to know about horses.  She taught us how to ride.  She taught us how to take care of a horse.  She gently taught us that we could trust her.  She knew how to behave when you entrusted her with your baby.  She took our 6 year old to her first rodeo and went just fast enough to let Sophie think that she won. Sophie doesn't remember much about life before Sarah.
We are learning that life has it's stages.  Sophie is now in school and commits to studying each and every night.  Sophie is a gifted athlete and loves to practice.
Sarah waits at the fence daily and comes running when she sees our car pull in the drive.  We want the best for Sarah and even though it is extremely hard, we realize that she will be a blessing to another family that already knows her well.  That family has horses and they ride daily.  They homeschool which means Sarah won't have to wait until the evening to see them.  They also have other horses that she will enjoy more than anything.  Sarah loves other horses and always picks a buddy.
We praise God for our time with this amazing horse.  We've been told that we might never find another one like her.

Our Home

We are building a home right now and we cannot wait until it is complete!  We have moved 4 times in two years and long for a place to call home!  God is good all the time and we praise Him for every good and perfect gift from above.

2013

When I think of 2013, I think of all the blessings we have received.  We began the year in a new home on a gorgeous lot full of trees and room to roam.  We settled into homeschooling and playing travel baseball and basketball.  Sophie played on her first traveling team and she was great!  Eli played travel baseball and moved up to kid pitch.  We enjoyed a small group with friends every Sunday night and we grew close to families in our area.  We traveled to Colorado with the Caugherns and then took the kids to Disney World.  They absolutely loved both trips!  We also met the Risingers in Branson on two different occasions.  We are so blessed with close friends.  As the spring and summer passed we decided to move to Conway.  Our home was quite a drive out of town and we were ready to be close to everything.  So we sold the house and moved into a rent house in Conway.  That was quite an experience.  We started homeschooling early this year, in order to take plenty of time off traveling.  This is the first year that homeschool and our Abeka curriculum feel like the norm.  And now I cannot imagine life any other way.  The new business is doing very well.  It has been such a huge blessing from God.  It has taken every ounce of energy and every spare moment that Joey has to offer.  The kids and I love our friends and pets that keep us happy while Joey is working.

Every morning we wake up and watch our bible class with our kittens and dogs sitting outside the back door looking in.  Every chance the kids have to take a break, they go cuddle the kittens and give them love.  That is why this week has been so awful.  I went to meet the architect to make changes to the house plans and as I pulled down our road, I saw that someone had run over our sweet kitten, Lily.  She was Sophie's favorite animal of all.  She was the sweetest little kitten around.  She and her sister, Ace, were the first kittens we've ever had.  They would stay in the garage most of the time, but we let them out for fresh air while the other kids were in school.  Hoping that they would be safe while people were working and at school during the day.  Now we still have the other sweetest kitten that lives, Ace.  She gets all the attention these days.  Needless to say, we are loving her to pieces and she doesn't get out of our sight often.  We love Ace and our heart breaks for the loss of Lily.  Who knew we would miss a kitten so much?

Celebrate

We took the day to celebrate Joey's birthday! We ate at Chuy's, went shopping, and watched Turbo. What more could a guy ask for?

Reading

This is the beginning of our second week of homeschool & the kids have enjoyed finishing their new books today! Eli read Cal Ripken Jr. And Sophie read a book on George Washington. The kids would be happy if we could read books all day long.

Happy Birthday!

I remember celebrating his twenty-first birthday! I've loved him so much that I could explode then & he's so worthy of my love! He gives each and every bit of himself to the kids and me. He is the guy that everyone calls on and I love to listen. He is such an extrovert and I am so happy to be introverted. He is the best part of my day. He is the best part of me. I have loved him for 17 years and its been the best 17 years a girl could ask for. He knows that Sophie, Eli, and I would rather spend time with him than anyone in this world & I hope he never forgets it. He is a gift from God. He shows us love like our Heavenly Father loves. He makes the most of every moment. He is my dream come true!
Happy Birthday!
